Who We AreThe founders of the Greater Brunswick Charter School are parents, teachers, and other concerned citizens living in the greater New Brunswick area in Middlesex County, New Jersey. We are a diverse group of people with different professions, interests, and affiliations, but we share in common a deep concern for the education of our children, as well as all other children in our communities. We see the Charter School Act as an opportunity to establish innovative, effective public schools that will offer all New Jersey families educational choice within public education. We believe that families who choose their children's school will be more involved in their children's education. Over the years, our organization and our school have grown to include over 200 families from more than a dozen different school districts throughout Middlesex, Somerset, and Union counties. More than half our students come from New Brunswick--but Edison, Highland Park, North Brunswick, and Franklin Township also provide sizable numbers. Our students represent the rich diversity of central New Jersey and make our school a welcoming and dynamic place to grow. The following list of founders is from our Charter School Application. It represents the individuals who were originally involved in putting the school together back in 1997. * * * |
